Eddie Redmayne reveals his secret trick to avoiding recognition as he enjoys his quiet family life with wife Hannah and two children Iris, eight, and Luke, six

Eddie Redmayne has revealed the secret trick he does to avoid being recognised in public as he gave a rare insight into his quiet family life.

The actor, 42, lives in London with his wife of 10 years Hannah Bagshawe, 41, and their two children Iris, eight, and Luke, six.

While he tries to live an ordinary life, Eddie said he struggles to get around the city without being noticed by fans.

To prevent being seen, Eddie revealed he avoids eye contact so he can live a ‘totally normal life’.

He told The Times: ‘Well, I know people who pull away from normality, but I live in London and get around like everyone else.

‘I sometimes get stopped for photos, but the other choice is to travel everywhere in cars, which is bloody expensive and takes for ever.

‘You can either live behind gates or just pulverise through a bit. I can live a totally normally life, so long as I don’t make eye contact.

‘The second you do, people recognise you – but for me, you can make fame of what you want.’

Speaking about his children, Eddie shared his daughter Iris is trying to learn to play guitar because she’s a massive fan of Taylor Swift.

Hannah and Eddie met in 2000 at a charity fashion show while attending Eton College, striking up a friendship.

They later started dating in January 2012 after Eddie invited her to a trip to Florence during a shooting break for Les Miserables.

The couple got engaged in June 2014 and went on to tie the knot in December that year at the Babington House.

Eddie plays the lead in The Day Of The Jackal, which is an adaptation of a novel of the same name written by Frederick Forsythe.
